Scholarship Criteria

The following criteria will be used by the Trustees when considering your application:

  1. Residency: You must reside in Central Hawke’s Bay. 

  2. Education: You must be intending to enroll in, or currently be attending, a tertiary education course in New Zealand.

  3. Financial hardship: The extent to which attending the course will cause you financial hardship will be considered.

  4. Educational Prospects: You should demonstrate that attending the course will enhance your future educational prospects.

  5. Previous funding: Preference will be given to those who have not previously received funds from the Trust, except in cases of extreme financial hardship.

  6. Year of Study: Except in special circumstances, preference will be given to applicants attending their first year of tertiary education.

  7. Application Completion: It is essential that all sections of the application form are completed.

Applications must be submitted by midnight on Sunday 22 November to be eligible for assessment. Please contact Governance@chbdc.govt.nz if you have any questions about your application.
